In the instructions they acknowledge that the Question Mark block isn't actually in the game but offer no explanation as to why they decided it was the best choice to honor it's 25th anniversary. Apparently the LEGO design team had the same problem I did. I love Mario, I could play through Super Mario World in one sitting including all the secret exits and Star Road, but I actually have less memories of Mario 64 (too busy playing Goldeneye probably).

Super Mario 64 did what most Mario videos games did before it and has done since, given us a fantastic game experience full of fun, challenges, and endless hours of pretending we're Italians from the perspective of the Japanese.
Maybe this LEGO set will do the same for construction toys. 25 years ago the game was released and transformed the industry.
